Rising Stars: Preschool Enrichment Programme

Rising Stars: Preschool Enrichment Programme

The project supports disabled preschoolers and their development. Specifically, this project will provide structured play sessions for preschool children aged 0-5 years with additional needs, as well as their preschool – aged siblings.

Our programme runs four days a week, with each session focussing on a different aspect of development. These sessions include water therapy and play, access to community facilities, music and movement, and Makaton baby signing. The variety of activities cater to the diverse needs and interests of the children, promoting physical development, social skills, communication, and overall wellbeing.  It also provides an opportunity for parents to bond with their children and develop peer support networks with others who understand their challenges. Importantly, all sessions are provided free of charge, alleviating financial pressures on families.

Programme Features

  • Early education
  • Play-based learning
  • Nutritious meals
  • Outdoor/indoor play

In 2023-24 we provided over 6,200 hours of activities to preschool children.

Aiming Higher has been amazing for my daughter. She has developed physically and developed her social skills gaining lots of confidence. She continues to learn and really enjoy Jo Jingles . The trips to soft play areas etc allowed her to physically challenge herself and she is now walking. When we started attending Aiming Higher my daughter couldn’t sit up unaided. She will continue to develop skills and make friends. Thank you.

Our Base

Our pre-school programme of events includes swimming, music and movement, soft play and makaton, details of which can be found on our events calendar and our social media pages. You can find us on FacebookInstagram and Twitter.

We offer a safe and secure environment, a place where you can meet new friends, share experiences and most of all, where children can have fun.

This charity has no idea how much it helps families. Whether it’s Stay and Play getting to know other people or  it’s creating days like the Sandcastle to introduce children to water. They have been a huge support! There’s often been times I’ve entered the building on the verge of tears and the staff reassure me and engage with my son and suddenly everything feels just a little bit better.  So thank you, Aiming Higher and especially our lovely Ella because without you guys I don’t know where we would be x
